SUMMARY:BPEC Woody Biomass: Wood Fuel for Domestic Heating
DESCRIPTION:This course will examine modern wood heating with differen
 t types of domestic wood fuels, boilers, fuel preparation, chimneys an
 d control systems. There will be practical and theoretical sessions an
 d full system design will be explored, as well as the legal requiremen
 ts for installations. There will also be site visits to locally instal
 led wood heating systems.\n\n\nThis course is for experienced installe
 rs of heating systems, and it includes a BPEC assessment. It is design
 ed to complement the HETAS ‘Two Day Solid Fuel Awareness Course’. 
 Applicants should be at least knowledgeable about one typical domestic
  fuel source such as gas, oil, heat pumps or solar as well as experien
 ced with domestic plumbing. Please see below for entry requirements.\n
 \n\nThis course is for Engineers, specifiers and installers, and is an
  Industry-recognised Certified Course. This BPEC certificate is recogn
 ised under the Micro Generation Certification Scheme and can be used b
 y HETAS installers as evidence to apply to HETAS to have ‘biomass’
  added as a category of registration – at this stage it is up to 50k
 W in dwellings.\n\nCourse requirements:\nTo be considered for the BPEC
  certification you must either be able to provide evidence of experien
 ce in conventional heating engineering / plumbing or have passed or be
  studying for a formal qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3) in the subject
 , hold the HETAS solid Fuel awareness Certificate and have attended an
  un-vented hot water storage course.\n\nThe course can be taken as a b
 iomass awareness course without certification, you need to provide evi
 dence of experience in conventional heating engineering / plumbing or 
 have passed or be studying for a formal qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 
 3) in the subject, a qualification in un-vented hot water storage is d
