resilience: for me what it means to survive against the odds, ie what we did as a community under siege in our formative years on Eigg when we were battling against the abusive landownership regime of the former proprietor, what the islanders in Canna, Rum and Muck are doing now, surviving the difficulties they have encountered and surmounting those associated with such small population numbers... Resilience being perhaps the quality of being an islander per se.
I like what one of your people in the podcast said about creating a resilience culture: by practising resilience, you create a culture where people know that they can build things out of nothing if they put their minds to it, indeed a good value to build upon when looking into values and vision for the community....
