"For so long community development has been based on the "felt needs" of local people, rather on the strengths of the assets that they have. By re-naming the way that we approach community development, we shift from what is Spanish is…"
Welcome! FierySpirits is for activists and professionals who are building vibrant, resilient rural communities. Tell us a little about why you'd like to join?
Because place is important, and rural places are often excluded from opportunities to increase their assets, it is important that we share experiences and insights. It is also critical that we make these opportunities inclusive of those who are excluded, by class, gender, ethnicity, etc. and that the existing power relationships shift.
About Me (areas of expertise/interest I can share)
Right now I am in a meeting in Mindo, Ecuador, working to establish a community of practice for Latin America on increasing capacity for Rural Territorial Development. I work in both North and South America on these critical issues, and find chances to learn from practitioners particularly important as we plan forward actions.
Dear Cornelia Flora,
Thanks for the comments.I am working with artisans and craftspersons for promoting thier craft at international level.Often their voice is not heared by the policy makers and they continuously require a support for bridging the gap between maker to market. So under One village one Product Pakistan AHAN-OVOP i am trying to serve these artisans and practising communites who dont have any other asset other than their skill. It is very unique and if synchronised with the market demand they can change their lives.
Hope to share more with you very soon.
