News on the Clay Futures Project

Which Way for the Clay?

The area’s core industry is slowly closing down, a move that affects the employment market but also brings with it the opportunity to develop former mining land for a series of Ecotown developments. In addition, local government has been restructured to create a unitary authority while local parish councils have gained more power. It’s essential that local people have a say in their… Continue

Hi Juliet, I have been speaking with Catherine Corcoran about an event I am co-hosting in Devon on the 4th Dec at which Kate Braithwaite has agreed to speak and we wondered if you and Tony might like to come along. The event is titled Sustainable and Resilient Rural Communities and will reflect on past and future Carnegie work and that of our partners. Catherine has agreed to take part and thought you would be interested in attending. If you contact me I can give you more details about the event, either phone me on 01805 624874 or e-mail me at info@devontownsforum.org.uk look forward to hearing from you, Regards Paul

Thanks Juliet. Best for RS/RBGE to deal direct on this one i think. So can you give me Tony's email address to pass onto Ian or Heather - even though it is unlikely to happen? Looking forward to meeting you.

Hi Juliet
Firstly I'm really glad of Eden's general offer of free places for Community of Practice folk to Sense of Place and looking forward to meeting you.
Secondly, a fellow board member of Reforesting Scotland & Director of Exhibitions/Events at Edinburgh Botanical Gardens is developing an exhibition "Another Kingdom: The Amazing World of Fungi" and looking for places to tour. Do you think Eden project may be interested and if so so can you suggest who he or his colleague Heather may speak to?
best
