Profile Information

Welcome! FierySpirits is for activists and professionals who are building vibrant, resilient rural communities. Tell us a little about why you'd like to join?
I'm part of a social enterprise called Hostel Hub which helps rural communities in Scotland run affordable accommodation, from hostels to glamping, for community benefit.

We help communities who need to earn income, generate jobs and/or find a sustainable use for at-risk buildings, set up and manage hostels, bunkhouses, and lodges.

A lot of people are nervous about the word "hostel" -- thinking of grimy buildings or noisy backpackers -- without realising that a hostel (or "lodge" if you prefer) can be as beautiful, upscale or quiet as you want it to be. It's all about designing and managing it to your community's needs. Examples are on our website.

Hostels also offer the chance of people of all ages and experiences to mix: youth with the elderly, visitors with residents.
About Me (areas of expertise/interest I can share)
As well as working on Hostel Hub, I'm a web designer focusing on community websites.
