About Me (areas of expertise/interest I can share)
I work as a Research Manager for One Planet Food at the Falkland Centre for Stewardship. I am also working as a consultant for Friends of the Earth Scotland, and as a board member for IACD (International Association for Community Development) and LifeMosaic. I combine research and activism. I have a PhD in Geography and Sociology and my main interests are: Indigenous Resistance, Big Oil & The State, Food Sovereignty, Climate Justice, and Corporate Accountability. I have been an activist on Indigenous Rights and Environmental Justice for the last 10 years. One of my previous job appointments was in 2002 as Expert in Mission of the Peruvian Amazon Program with UNICEF (United Nations Children Fund). Since October 2003 I have been working for Friends of the Earth Scotland as Global Communities Project Coordinator. I also have an interest on filmmaking, I have co-directed the film Who owes who? (2006), and co- produced the film The Shaman’s Oil (2007).

The Challenges of the Food System: What is the fuss with New Zealand apples?

Yesterday I attended a Food Seminar organised by a team of researchers at St. Andrews University in collaboration with Fife Council. The main aim of the seminar was to explore How can Local Authorities (and Fife Council in particular) help Communities Recover Sustainable Food Systems and so reduce our carbon emissions and create resilience in the face of the energy and economic crunch.

2nd meeting of Nourish: The Scottish Sustainable Food Network





The purpose of this event was to gather people from across Scotland with a common interest in local sustainable food to discuss the purpose, structure and priorities of Nourish.
