- Welcome! FierySpirits is for activists and professionals who are building vibrant, resilient rural communities. Tell us a little about why you'd like to join?
- I'm interested in grassroots community development, teaching and organizing in this work. I live in a rural community. I'm interested in being a part of networks which support grassroots community leaders and their initiatives. Being a part of such networks helps me to find needed support, resources and collaborators.
- About Me (areas of expertise/interest I can share)
- "Mac" Johnson has worked in community and nonprofit organizational development for over 25 years. He served on the staff of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Catholic Charities of Covington and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Community in Centerville, Ohio. Mac taught social justice in the Lay Pastoral Ministry Program (LPMP) of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and is a graduate of LPMP with a MA in Religion. He also taught community development and nonprofit marketing at the Union Institute & University in Cincinnati. Also an MBA graduate of the College of William and Mary, he now lives in New Richmond, Ohio, USA.

Welcome to the topic group and thanks again for those links you shared a few weeks back... I've enjoyed reading about both examples. Was particularly interested in the June Holley work around social network mapping and health. Here in the UK, the health sector is an area where assets approaches are particularly gaining ground so colleagues may well find this example useful. Look forward to hearing any other reflections via the group.
