Community growing spaces in the Forth Valley?

Hello - I'm currently doing a feasability study on the possibility of setting up several community growing/biodiversity areas in deprived areas (top 30% of SIMD) across the Forth Valley. Am doing ok with Stirling and Falkirk, but Clackmannanshire is proving to be really hard to find available land. Tullibody Healthy Living run a fruit barra on a Thursday which is really popular, and they would dearly like to find some land where their volunteers can grow produce to supply the fruit barra.

Does anyone know of any landowners/farmers in Clacks who might be up for leasing a small area of their land? It really doesnt have to be a large area - just enough for a few raised beds would do.

Also if anyone knows of any derelict land/farmers/landowners/people who are enthusiastic about local food in Falkirk let me know!

Cheers

Caroline

Hello Caroline,

I work for Forth Valley & Lomond LEADER based in Stirling but our area covers rural Falkirk and Clackmannanshire too. It's possible that we might be able to pass on some contacts for people or groups that might be of interest to you. I think the best way to progress this would be to have a chat on the phone. My number is 01786 four43120. I work Monday to Thursday.

All the best, David
