Hi All,
Does anyone have any good examples of communities using social media to engage people in community planning activities? Lots have Facebook, Twitter etc. but I am looking for good practice - effective, demonstrable benefits.

Excellent question! A little later this week I'm going to be putting out a call for an Associate to help develop a topic for FierySPirits on how local and rural networks can use social media effectively - and your question has given me pause for thought that the same know-how will be relevant in community planning. Very interested to follow responses to this post - and I'll flag it up in a newsletter I'm planning for the end of the week.
Would you be able to say a little more about what's prompted the question - and the timescale that you're looking for feedback within? Also any thoughts you have on how you might measure demonstrable benefits would be valuable too.
Best wishes
